I Swallow Your Pride, is a confession to the diary of protagonist who lives in an Indian city. In which he talks about his desires, lust and laments. This text is written in diary-form as part of the solitary pleasure symposium that later was extended and included in the catalogue.
Solitary pleasures is a secret museum, a treasure trove of insightful and delightful drawings, sculptures, photographs, video stills, artefacts, performative gestures, and ephemera – as well as especially commissioned texts by artists, academics, educators, and critical writers – on a subject at the heart of Freudian and post-Freudian sexuality, eroticism, and desire: masturbation.
First published in 2018 to coincide with the exhibition Solitary pleasures at the Freud Museum, London, April-May 2018.
